sky ceiling - general view

A simulated sky ceiling can dramatise a dining-room or entrance hall. It can be combined with architectural elements such as a cornice or frieze to great effect.

These ceilings are painted with many layers of transparent glaze to build up a glowing, translucent sky. Normal paint is opaque so the light reflects off the surface producing a flat colour, but with our method the light penetrates the glaze, reflects off a white base layer and returns through the glaze, producing an unparalleled depth and luminosity
