Gallery, Entrance Halls

The Entrance Hall, gateway to your home; visitors will often judge you, albeit sub-consciously, from the impression that it makes. Strike the right balance - keep to the style of the property but try to create that all-important wow-factor! Stone blocking is an ideal finish for many entrance halls; the tone, contrast and subtlety of the stone can be finely adjusted to suit almost any hall. Architectural features such as panelling and door surrounds are another method to add structure and dramatic detail.

In this hall the stone is strong in colour, setting off the portraits and antique curtains. Note the gilded pelmets which were especially made for this room.

Corridors

These corridors have been panelled and painted with a patinated green/grey finish.

To give impact to the doors to the Empire Dining Room (see later page) we constructed a large overdoor
